After getting an e-mail from Hungry Girl and reading that she’s been flooded with e-mails saying that people love Digiorno’s new 200 calorie portions of pizza and that they were just 5 Weight Watchers points, I jumped on the bandwagon and hunted them down so I could try them myself because seriously - who besides my Dad doesn’t love pizza? (my Dad doesn’t know what he’s missing out on – he also hates tacos and chocolate cake and Chinese takeout – no wonder he’s skinny!).
Trying to find the pizza in the store was my first challenge. Wouldn’t it make sense for pizza to be in the ”pizza” section of the store and not in the frozen entrees section? Obviously not to the people who stock the shelves at my local grocery store.
Anyway, I bought the chicken with green peppers and onions pizza and the pepperoni one so my husband and I could share.
I didn’t read the box before I purchased them or I would have found out that each box contains 2 servings, each of them 200 calories. Very misleading. Who buys a low cal meal in a box and only makes half?
The taste?
What taste?
They were pretty blah. The pepperoni one was completely tasteless. The chicken one with peppers and onions was slightly better but definitely not worth the $2.99 each I paid for them. Plus they didn’t fill either me or my husband up.
I say don’t waste your money on them. Buy the kind of pizza you really like, eat 1 slice and have a big salad along with it to fill you up.
