What’s the first thing most of us do to celebrate? It’s to stuff our faces with food, right? But when we’re losing weight going out and celebrating with a big meal is counterproductive. Though I do my best to no longer say to myself “good job on losing weight – I’m going to go out for a huge banana split” I still like to reward myself in some way for reaching a weight loss goal without spending a ton of money. Why not socks? I found the cutest ones at LittleMissmatched.com!

After getting an e-mail from Hungry Girl and reading that she’s been flooded with e-mails saying that people love Digiorno’s new 200 calorie portions of pizza and that they were just 5 Weight Watchers points ,I jumped on the bandwagon and hunted them down so I could try them myself because, seriously, who doesn’t love pizza?

After seeing 6 commercials for McDonald’s Big Mac Snack Wrap on television last night I decided I had to have it today for lunch. The “full on” version of the Big Mac used to be my “go-to” sandwich when I wanted a fast food lunch, but at 540 calories and 29 grams of fat it became a very infrequent treat when I got serious about weight loss.

So I’m currently at Starbucks enjoying a nonfat latte. A guy came in about 5 minutes ago and sat a couple tables away from me. Apparently he thinks it’s okay to have the speaker volume on his computer turned up loud enough for himself and the rest of us around him to hear the sports scores updates he’s listening to. Shouldn’t he be polite and either use earphones or read the scores instead of listening to them?

I found Galaxy Granola at my local natural foods store several months ago when I was looking for a granola that didn’t have high fructose corn syrup, artificial ingredients or preservatives in it; and also was hoping to find something that didn’t have the equivalent of the calories for an entire meal in one small handful of it.

Yogurt is recommended as part of most healthy eating plans and is usually a staple for people who are dieting. But even though there are plenty of choices in the yogurt, eating yogurt by itself can get pretty boring so here are some ideas to make it more interesting and tasty without adding a ton of calories to it.

Starbucks has a new line of packaged snacks. I noticed them right away when I walked into Starbucks this morning (my nose always gravitates right towards the food). Among them are packages of cookies from Dr. Lucy’s; sugar, chocolate chip, and cinnamon thins.
I chose the cinnamon thins to try after dutifully [...]

I tried a fresco style crunchy taco at Taco Bell yesterday, but just one. I wasn’t holding out much hope that it was going to taste good because what’s a taco without cheese? (which is why I only ordered one instead of two or three.) But I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good (either that or I was really hungry). I actually didn’t miss the cheese at all and I’m from Wisconsin where we pretty much think everything is better with cheese!

I just tried Kashi’s Dark Mocha Almond granola bars today. Yum!!!!! They’re new at my store and since I love chocolate, coffee and almonds they seemed like a home run. And they were! There’s big pieces of almond, dark chocolate chips and a yummy coffee taste. All that yumminess only costs 2 Weight Watchers points (but check the box yourself because serving sizes and ingredients can change).

If you haven’t checked out the Hungry Girl website yet, you’re missing out on some great low calorie recipes (love the blueberry scone recipe), food swaps (lower calorie, fat and sodium choices to replace high calorie favorites) and tons of product reviews. Plus there’s a free daily e-mail you can sign up for. I get the daily e-mails and really enjoy them. In addition to product reviews and recipes, there’s fun and silly news. That’s how I found out January 12 is National Curried Chicken Day (who decides this stuff?).
